This artillery shell (spent) was donated to the Museum by Hall of Famer Richard "Dick" Stillman and accessioned into the collection in 1977. The shell is from a 75mm Howitzer and is believed to have been used at Berthoud Pass for avalanche mitigation. The spent shell was manufacturered in 1941, but could have been used from 1950-1963 while Dick worked at Berthoud. Original paperwork is void if this information. |
