These skis were accessioned into the collection in 1977 and were slated for display as early as 2003 for the Vail Timeline. At some point in 2010, the skis were loaned to the Summit Ski Museum via the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance and were on display until March 2020. The skis were returned to the CSM in May of 2021. According to original paperwork from February 16, 1977, the skis were imported from Norway or Swedan in the 1880s or 1890s. The skis were originally owned by Jacques Megroz of Mamaroneck, New York. The skis were brought to the Museum by John Cone Hanover of New Hampshire for William Hanlon. |
